Matching your investment dollar for dollar The Ontario Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP) allows small- and medium-sized automotive supply companies to apply to receive up to $150,000 to help cover up to 50% of eligible project costs. Projects can be up to two years in duration.

If you have been thinking about upgrading your operations or adopting leading-edge technology to modernize your business, apply now. Your project may be eligible for this support.

To be eligible for O-AMP, you must be a small- or medium-sized Ontario-based business in the automotive supply chain.

Eligible projects

  • technology adoption – implementing advanced manufacturing hardware, software and/or training to improve processes and competitiveness,, for example, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, production tracking systems and advanced hardware implementation.
  • tools and technologies to support new product development – adoption of  technologies to assist with the engineering and design of new products such as Computer-Aided Design & Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) tools, rapid-prototyping tools or other tools to support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • lean manufacturing –improving operational efficiency and competitiveness by adopting lean manufacturing techniques and hiring the services of a mentor/consultant to help with lean implementation

The application intake is currently open. Companies are eligible to re-apply for different projects, provided that the previous O-AMP project has been successfully completed.

Projects can include hardware and software upgrades, technology-related training or finding efficiencies in how you produce your product or service.

The APMA has continually advocated for practical programs that assist our members and the industry at the grassroots level. The Government of Ontario has listened and has implemented a strategic support program designed to help your business modernize operations and compete in a dynamic global economy.
