Auto execs on both sides of the border are asking Biden administration to alter last administration’s stringent interpretation of North American trade provisions. Katherine Tai, Biden’s U.S. trade rep nominee, would view the proper implementation of USMCA as a “top priority” upon her confirmation to the position. “She’s going to be as tough as her predecessor,” said Flavio Volpe, president of the APMA.
