APMA Announces election of Global Industry 4.0 Leaders to its Board of Directors

Toronto – July 18, 2019

The Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association announced today that Humera Malik, CEO of Canvass Analytics and Derek Kuhn, President of Sciemetric have joined its Board of Directors for the upcoming year. Their election to

the Board at the Annual General Meeting in June signals the expanding influence of Canadian technology in advancing Industry 4.0 in the global automotive sector.

Humera-MalikCanvass Analytics is a leader in automating intelligent industrial operations through its AI-powered predictive analytics platform. It was recognized as a 2018 Network World Top 10 Hot AI IoT Startups to Watch. Ms. Malik is a recipient of the RBC Women of Influence Entrepreneur of the Year award and Women of IoT/M2M award.

Derek-KuhnSciemetric is a leader in instrumentation, data management and analytics in the Industrial Internet of Things. It was recognized as the 2018 Assembly Magazine’s ASSEMBLY Show New Product of the Year Award winner. Mr. Kuhn is a recipient of the Alcatel-Lucent CEO Award and a Top 40 Under 40 from the Ottawa Business Journal as well as being a past APMA board member from 2012 to 2015.

APMA is Canada’s national association representing OEM producers of parts, equipment, tools, supplies, advanced technology, and services for the worldwide automotive industry. The Association was founded in 1952 and its members account for 90% of independent parts production in Canada. In 2018, automotive parts shipments were over $35 Billion and the industry employment level was over 100,000 people.
